Shepton mallet health campus

To meet the rise in demand for health care, family doctors in Shepton Mallet believe the way forward could be to develop a health and wellbeing campus, combining hospital, family doctor and community health services all on one site.

The vision of a health campus came out of an earlier review of community health services for Shepton Mallet that took place throughout 2012 and 2013. This also included a proposal to explore the opportunity to relocate Grove House Surgery to the community hospital site and thereby increase the opportunity to develop family doctor services.

From this review came the establishment of the Shepton Mallet Health Campus Project Board who will now be asking for the views of people so that they can influence the content of a detailed business plan that will need to be prepared if the scheme is to make its case for NHS funding.
