Carolyn Moore is a registered nurse who has worked at executive level as Director of Nursing within the acute trust setting. She qualified as a nurse in 1982 in Leicester where she spent her first 15 years. Her career brought her to the South West in 1997 where she has held senior nursing posts in Cornwall, Yeovil and Taunton. Carolyn has an MSc in Nursing and is an Alumni of the NHS Top Leaders Programme. Also a qualified coaching practitioner and member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, she coaches both individuals and teams to improve performance inside and outside of the NHS.
Prior to becoming an independent consultant and coach, Carolyn inspired and supported staff operating in professional, clinical and non-clinical capacities, developing and implementing healthcare strategy and policy, leading on patient experience, patient safety, infection prevention and control and service user, carer and public engagement, as well as leading Professional Nursing Practice. Carolyn now works freelance and is the owner and director of a limited company delivering independent consultancy in health and care.
Carolyn has an interest in improving the care and treatment of people with a learning disability and recent work supports her expertise in this area; she supported the leadership of the Learning Disabilities Acute Hospital Peer Review across the south west and has more recently worked with Bristol University fulfilling the role of Honorary Research Fellow for the National Confidential Inquiry into Deaths of People with a Learning Disability.
