Director of Clinical and Collaborative Commissioning
Ann worked as an Occupational Therapist within the NHS for many years, practicing in both acute and community settings, before moving to a senior NHS management role 14 years ago. Before being appointed to the post of Director of Clinical Commissioning Development in 2012, Ann worked as Deputy Director of Strategic Development for Somerset Primary Care Trust.
Ann has significant experience in leading a range of service redesign programmes within both children and adult services. She feels strongly that a whole systems approach, working in partnership with primary care, NHS provider organisations, the local authority and voluntary organisations, provides the best opportunity to develop more joined up patient care, improved patient experience and outcomes and a more sustainable health and social care system going forward.
Ann is committed to ensuring the opportunities that clinical leadership and clinical commissioning offer are maximised, bringing the experience and needs of service users and their carers central to the development of new models of care that will best meet the needs of people in Somerset over future years.
