GP Delegate - Chard, Crewkerne and Ilminster Commissioning Locality
Kate has been a GP in Somerset for 26 years having graduated from The Royal Free Hospital and completed GP training in North Devon. Married to a GP, and while raising four daughters, she has experienced work as a partner, job share, salaried doctor, locum and the retainer scheme as well as setting up a new practice in 1994.
With an interest in quality and patient safety she has worked for the Primary Care Group, Primary Care Trust and NHS England in these roles, more recently as assistant MD for NHS England South West with responsibility for revalidation. She left this role in 2015.
Kate is the Chard, Crewkerne and Ilminster Local Medical Committee (LMC) representative and a GP advocate who represents the LMC on the NHS England South West Performance Group.
